Adam Termote
I'm a freelance investigative journalist working on issues of social and environmental justice in Latin America. I'm currently based in Mexico.
I use a blend of on-the-ground reporting, open source investigation techniques and data analysis to build compelling and nuanced stories that interrogate some of the most sweeping issues of our time - like climate change, science, and capitalism - through their lived human realities.
I worked various roles before turning to journalism, from academia to off-grid electrics, carpentry and surveying on houseboats in the UK. I bring a forensic and analytical perspective to my work.
I've trained with the Centre for Investigative Journalism in London, and hold an NCTJ (UK journalism qualification). My investigation into UK plastic waste contaminating Turkey won the 2025 NCTJ data story award.
I speak English, Spanish and Dutch.
